Opening Ceremony: Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida Selection Examination

The opening ceremony of the 78th Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida Selection Examination, organized by the Department of Religious Affairs under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, was held at Thiri Mingala KabaAye Hillock in Yangon on Sunday.

Sayadaws and members of the Sangha led by Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee, Patron Sayadaw of Thanlyin Min Kyaung Monastry attended the ceremony. Also present were Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Deputy Minister U Aye Htun, officials, donors, and invited guests.

The ceremony began with the congregation observing the Five Precepts and listening to Paritta. The Chairman Sayadaw then delivered a sermon. After that, the Deputy Minister submitted the religious affairs. During the ceremony, well-wishers donated over 125 million kyat for the examination.

After listening to the sermon, the congregation shared the merits gained. The Chief Minister and party later also donated offerings to the Sayadaws and members of the Sangha. A day meal was also donated by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and family.
