Advance Voting : Early voting held in Taungoo for election duty staff

Early voting was held on Saturday at Taungoo District Indoor Stadium for government staff and election officials who will be on duty during the upcoming election.

Those voting included district and township-level departmental staff, and chairpersons and members of district, township, ward, and village election commissions in Taungoo Township. According to the Union Election Commission, eligible voters who may be away on official duty can cast early votes from December 18 to 27, between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., for the election to be held on December 28, 2025.

On Saturday, early voting took place for officials from 23 wards and 33 village tracts in Taungoo Township, which has 142 polling stations. Voters cast ballots for the Pyithu Hluttaw, Amyotha Hluttaw, and Bago Region Hluttaw, at which candidates from eight political parties contesting for the election under the first-past-the-post system.
