Education Promotion : Workshop to improve matriculation exam results

Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung attended the opening ceremony of a workshop aimed at improving matriculation exam results for the 2025–2026 academic year.

The event was held at No. (1) Basic Education High School in Taunggyi. The Chief Minister said the workshop was jointly organized by the Department of Higher Education and the Department of Basic Education to help students in Shan State achieve better results in the matriculation exam.

He urged teachers to carefully study subject-based lectures from Taunggyi University and systematically train students to better understand exam questions and marking schemes for the March 2026 exams. The Chief Minister donated 3 million kyats to support the workshop.

The Rector of Taunggyi University then explained plans to improve exam success. The two-day workshop is being held from December 20 to 21 at six high schools in Taunggyi, two in Ayethaya, and one in Shwe Nyaung. A total of 13,962 students from southern Shan State are expected to sit for the matriculation exam in 2026.
