







Vice Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and Commander-in-Chief (Army), Vice Senior General Soe Win on December 17, met with district and township departmental officials, ethnic literature and culture committee members, and towns-elders at PhonkanRazi Hall in Putao Township and delivered an address.
First, the Chairman of the Putao District Administration and Management Committee provided a briefing on regional information within the district, the implementation status of the directives of the Head of State, progress in regional development projects, preparations undertaken to successfully hold the multi-party democratic general election, and the planning and ongoing implementation for the development of the education sector.
Subsequently, Chairman of the Myanmar Rawang Literature and Culture Committee, U Khaung Lan Dee , expressed gratitude for the transportation of food supplies, medicines, and fuel for agricultural machinery by Tatmadaw aircraft during the 2024 monsoon rice cultivation season, due to transportation difficulties along the Myitkyina–Putao route.
He also presented requests for the installation of solar-powered streetlights along the main Union Highway running through Putao Township, the opening of offices of the Department of Labour and the Road Transport Administration Department in Putao to facilitate the issuance of labour cards and driving licences, and, on behalf of local resident U Myint Aung, assistance in ensuring sufficient access to animal feed, which is a key requirement for livestock farming.
In response to the presentations, the Vice Senior General discussed and supplemented matters relating to agriculture and livestock breeding, the MSME sector, regional development, and environmental conservation in Putao District, and coordinated with responsible officials to address necessary requirements.
Continuing, the Vice Senior General delivered a speech, stating that the visit was made in accordance with the directives of the Head of State to support regional development and to coordinate responses to the issues raised. He noted that ethnic people of the Putao region have, throughout successive eras, worked hand in hand with the Tatmadaw in jointly implementing regional development efforts.
With regard to the forthcoming general election, he observed that responsible officials in Putao had made preparations to ensure its successful conduct. He added that the Head of State places special emphasis on further accelerating development in the Putao region and is providing necessary assistance and support.
He urged ethnic residents and all loyal civil servants in the region to work collectively for the development of their respective localities and areas of responsibility. Then, the SSPC Vice Chairman, presented cash of honor to the members of ethnic literature and culture committees, which were received by responsible representatives. After the meeting, the SSPC Vice Chairman and accompanying members warmly greeted the attendees.
