Presenting Letter of Credence: Pakistani Ambassador presented his letter of credence

Mr. Tariq Karim, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Myanmar, presented his Letter of Credence to the Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, at 10:00 a.m. on December 16, at the Credentials Hall of the National Defence and Security Council Office in Nay Pyi Taw.

Following the presentation, cordial discussions were held on matters relating to the strong diplomatic relations between the two countries and efforts to further enhance friendship and cooperation. The discussions covered the promotion of cooperation in the trade, economic, defence, health, and political sectors, as well as cooperation in religious and tourism sectors.

They also discussed the enhancement of cooperation between the respective Ministries of Foreign Affairs, and arrangements for Pakistan to send election observer missions to the forthcoming multi-party democratic general election to be held in Myanmar in the near future.

After the meeting, the Acting President and the SSPC Chairman and the Ambassador of Pakistan to Myanmar posed for a group documentary photograph. Present at the call, were SSPC Secretary, General Ye Win Oo, SSPC Member and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, and Director General of the Protocol Department U Than Htwe.
