Friendly Relations : MOST Deputy Minister in Nanning

To exchange innovative ideas and accelerate digital technology between Myanmar and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China, Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Minister for Science and Technology and Chairman of the Innovation and Digital Skills Promotion Committee Dr. Aung Zeya visited Nanning, China on December 5th. 

On the same day, Mr. Chen Gang, Secretary of Guangxi Zhuang Communist Party received the visiting delegation at the Communist Party Office with the attendance of Communist Party member and Vice Chair, and high ranking officials.

The meeting focused on cooperation in Artificial Intelligent (AI) among ASEAN member states to gain benefits on various sectors, through practicing AI technology. Mr. Chen Gang added that plans are underway to implement Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region as international AI cooperation hub for ASEAN regions.

He also stated that Paukpaw Friendship between Myanmar and China, emphasizing on fruitful cooperation through AI cooperation. The Deputy Minister expressed appriciation for their invitiation and systematic management of observation tour to three cities in Guangxi Zhuang.

He said that in accordance with the guidance of the Head of State of Myanmar, the government is striving for development of MSMEs sector and Agro-based Industries to promote socio-economic lives of the people while plans are carrying out for widely usage of renewable energy for environmental conservation, along with development of the cyber security, health and public service sectors.

He added that the National AI Strategy and National AI Policy will be adopted soon. During the tour, the Deputy Minister said he had a chance to observe AI technology in agriculture, industrial, wind power, EV, foodstuff manufacturing and providing public services.

As this year marks the 75th Anniversary of diplomatic relation betwenn Myanmar and China, the Deputy Minister stressed to strengthen Paukpaw Friendship in implementing future cooperations.
