Meeting in Yangon: Acting President meets with departmental personnel

Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with Yangon Region Government members and district and township level departmental personnel at the Region Government Office on Thursday.

Chief Minister U Soe Thein reported on the implementation of agriculture and livestock works, storage condition of the dams and reservoirs, solar powered village electrification, agricultural loan disbursement from the State Economic Promotion Fund, permission for local and foreign investments, employment opportunities, MSME development works, efforts for development of education, health and sports sector, as well as preparations for successful holding of the election.

Union Ministers Dr Thet Khaing Win and Dr Soe Win elaborated on the reports. In his response, the Acting President emphasized the changes in the cabinet by the end of March 2026, followed by the multi-party democratic general election.

He also stressed the crucial role of 2024 census data for implementing the development projects of the region. He also discussed to make efforts for education promotion, boosting agriculture and livestock works along with the production, and development of health standards. He called for successful holding of the upcoming election, ensuring the casting of all eligible voters.
