Min Ye Thu Project: Appraisal and exploration drilling campaign

The Appraisal and Exploration Drilling Campaign for "Min Ye Thu" Project, which will be implemented by Gulf Petroleum Myanmar (GPM) in late 2026 at Block-10 took place at the Region Government Office in Thanintharyi Region on December 11th.

First, officials from GPM made clarification on current and future working plans of the project and region ministers and attendees made additional discussions. On the reports, Chief Minister U Myat Ko stated that as the project plays vital role for the country, all related departments are urged for less impact on the natural environment and socio-economic life of the locals near the project area.

He stressed that in implementing Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Social Impact Assessment (SIA), discussions must be made with the locals,. The Chief Minister called for collaboration among the concerned departmental officials for successfully implementation of the project.
