






Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Aung Gyi inspected livestock farms in Magway Region on December 10. At the Good Brother Co., Ltd dairy farm in Yay Pyae Village in Myothit Township, he observed Brahman cattle breeding, sheep breeding, artificial insemination activities, fodder cultivation, and community cattle-rearing support.
He discussed the need to increase quality meat production to meet local market demand. In Aunglan Township, the Deputy visited the Super Maline factory, and viewed the production process. He urged cooperation among all stakeholders to strengthen modern value-added livestock-based industries.
He also inspected a dairy farm in Zayyawadi Ward, where 21 dairy cows are raised. He stressed the importance of improved feeding systems, disease prevention, and shifting from traditional to modern livestock-farming methods. Later, the Deputy Minister met with township agricultural officers and irrigation department officials in Aunglan.
He highlighted the need to promote sunflower cultivation effectively to support domestic edible oil sufficiency, maintain production of other income-generating crops, ensure soil testing, land preparation, water access, and quality seed distribution and improve dairy farming and increase local milk and dairy production to reduce imports.
In the afternoon, he inspected a broiler chicken farm with 15,000 birds in Pyay Township and a layer chicken farm in Nyaung Wine Village of Letpadan Township. He instructed to maintain good hygiene, disease prevention, and worker sanitation.
