Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing, accompanied by officials, visited the Shwe Thar Lyaung Buddha Image in Maungmya Township, Ayeyarwady Region, on December 10.

The Union Minister paid homage to the Reclining Buddha image and donated funds, presenting them to the Chairman of the pagoda's board of trustees. Afterwards, the Union Minister observed and encouraged the work being carried out by staff from the Maungmya Township Chief Office of the Ministry of Immigration and Population at the prayer hall of Shwe Thar Lyaung Buddha Image.

They are providing services under Phase 3 of the 'Pan Khin' project for local residents who need household registration and have damaged/lost National Registration Cards (NRCs) or have not yet received their NRCs. He warmly greeted the locals who came to utilize the services.

The Union Minister then inquired about and discussed work-related difficulties. He observed and encouraged the process where staff are providing step-by-step one-stop services, screening according to the law, to help local residents obtain household registrations and National Registration Cards. He also observed the process where those who have received their NRCs are having their biographic/biometric data collected via the e-ID system to issue them a Unique ID number simultaneously.

He coordinated and facilitated necessary work requirements with the responsible officials. Continuing, the Union Minister personally handed over the completed National Registration Cards and Unique ID cards, processed through the one-stop service, to each respective individual. He then provided food supplies for the staff to the Township Chief, and warmly greeted the local residents. In the afternoon, the Union Minister visited the Metta Mon Home for the Elderly in Myakantha Ward, Maungmya Township.

He met with the home's responsible officials and the elderly residents, inquired about and observed the conditions of their living, food, and healthcare provision, donated funds and food items to each elderly person individually. Following that, the Union Minister paid respects to the elderly residents.

He then provided and donated solar lights and food supplies for the home to the home's responsible officials. Subsequently, the Union Minister visited the Myanmar War Veterans' Organization office in Maungmya Township. He met with war veterans, discussed the current activities of the Government, coordinated and facilitated necessary actions based on the presentations by the responsible officials, provided food supplies and solar lights for the war veterans' organization members, and warmly greeted them.
