







Member of the State Security and Peace Commission and Union Minister for the Ministry of Border Affairs and the ministry of Ethnic Affairs, Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, accompanied by Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung and officials, visited the Shan State Development Supervision Office in Taunggyi on December 10.
After the State Development Supervision Officer explained the status of implemented regional development projects and the State Education and Training Department Head explained the status of implemented human resource development activities, the Union Minister gave necessary guidance and instructions, presented cash award to staff, and inspected the constructed stone retaining wall and seasonal crop cultivation within the office compound.
Following this, the Union Minister and officials visited the Shan State Ethnic Affairs and Vocational Training Center. After meeting with staff and hearing a presentation on the state's operational activities from the state responsible officer, the Union Minister gave necessary instructions and awarded cash assistance. They then observed the practical training sessions of the basic computer course and motorcycle repair course being conducted at the center and facilitated necessary support. Continuing, the Union Minister and officials visited the Swe Taw Monastery in Aye Thar Yar Town, paid respects to the members of Sangha, and donated rice, which the Ministry of Border Affairs provides annually.
They also provided and donated school uniforms and exercise books for the students from various border areas studying at the monastic education school within the monastery compound. They toured the monastery compound and arranged to facilitate necessary matters requiring support. Afterwards, the Union Minister and party, along with the Chairman of the Danu Self-Administered Zone Leading Body U Arkar Lin and responsible officials, inspected the work of applying an asphalt overlay on the 1-mile, 1-furlong gravel road connecting from the Konglon San monastery junction to Konglon San monastery in Pindaya Township.
They coordinated and facilitated necessary actions based on the presentations by local ethnic people. Subsequently, the Union Minister and officials visited the Border Areas Ethnic Youth Development Training School in Pindaya Township, Danu Self-Administered Zone. Based on the principal's presentation of information related to the training school, the Union Minister facilitated and provided necessary support.
The Union Minister then met and delivered an address to the principal, staff, instructors, and students, awarding cash assistances. He warmly greeted the staff, teachers, instructors, and students, inspected the school compound, and facilitated necessary support.
Finally, the Union Minister and party visited the Industrial and Handicrafts Vocational Training School in Aungpan Township from Pindaya. Based on the principal's presentation of information related to the training school, the Union Minister gave necessary instructions. He awarded cash for the staff and trainees, observed the training sessions being conducted according to the subjects, and gave instructions and facilitated necessary support.
