Establishment of Central Committee: NDSC formed Committee for combating online fraud

The National Defence and Security Council has established the Central Supervisory Committee for Combating Online Fraud and Online Gambling, comprised of Union Minister for Home Affairs as Chairman, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs as Vice-Chairman (1), Union Minister for Immigration and Population as Vice-Chairman (2), Deputy Minister for Home Affairs as Secretary, Chief of Myanmar Police Force as Joint-Secretary (1), Deputy Chief of Myanmar Police Force (2) as Joint-Secretary (2) and members, with an Order No (52/2025) on December 10, in order to completely prevent online fraud and online gambling activities from taking root within Myanmar, and to be able to coordinate and collaborate with domestic forces as well as foreign governments.

The operational duties of the Central Supervisory Committee for Combating Online Fraud and Online Gambling Activities included formulating policies for the eradication of online fraud and online gambling activities, establishing necessary committees and defining their operational duties for combating online fraud and online gambling activities, developing and establishing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to combating online fraud and online gambling activities, coordinating with relevant countries regarding the repatriation of foreigners illegally involved in online fraud and online gambling operations, cooperating internationally for combating online fraud and online gambling activities. The order was signed by the NDSC Executive Chief U Aung Lin Dwe.
