The Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Min Thu attended and delivered the opening address at the opening ceremony for Training Course on the Usage of the One Map Myanmar Geoportal, held at the Meeting Hall of the Survey Department (Headquarters) in Nay Pyi Taw on December 10.

In his address, the Deputy Minister and Chairman of the Committee for Developing and Implementing the One Map Myanmar System stated that this training has been organized by inviting participants from 57 departments that have uploaded data to the One Map Myanmar Geoportal system.

He explained that the One Map Myanmar System is designed to centrally maintain and share information for the entire country by consolidating data from various departments into a single system. The Survey Department under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation is responsible as the focal department for establishing this system.

During its development, the Ministry of Transport and Communications provided VM servers, and the system was built using ArcGIS Enterprise Software with a Network Geodatabase system for systematic storage and sharing. He instructed the trainees to diligently learn how to use the webpage and dashboards when the system's government website is launched, as well as how to use the public webpage, public desktop, and mobile applications. Upon returning to their respective departments, they should also share and teach what they have learned.

The Training Course on the Usage of the One Map Myanmar Geoportal will be conducted over one week starting from December 10, 2025, with both theoretical and practical instruction. A total of 52 trainees from departments, enterprises, committees, universities, and Region/State Development Affairs Committees will attend the course, it’s reported.
