Chongqing-Yangon Aviation: Aviation and Cultural Tourism Promotion Conference held

To further enhance aviation and tourism market cooperation between Chongqing and Myanmar, strengthen passenger organization for the Chongqing-Yangon air route, and ensure its long term stability, Chongqing Airport Group, Chongqing Cultural Tourism Group, West Air and Chongqing Myanmar Group, jointed hosted Chongqing-Yangon Aviation and Cultural Tourism Promotion Conference on December, 2025 at Lotte Hotel Yangon.

Following the discussions between the authorities of Chongqing and the Head of State of Myanmar when he visited Chongqing last year, Chongqing Myanmar Group has initiated efforts to establish air routes between Chongqing and Myanmar.

Amber Zhao (Chairman), Chongqing Myanmar Group said " Primarily, following the discussions between the authorities of Chongqing and the Head of State of Myanmar when he visited Chongqing last year, our company has initiated efforts this year to establish air routes between Chongqing and Myanmar. This event is jointly organized by the Chongqing authorities, the Chongqing-Myanmar G2G (Government-to-Government), Chongqing Airport Group, and West Air. The event is attended by leaders of the Taninthayi Region Government and senior officials from the Chinese Embassy."

The promotion of Chongqing-Myanmar tourism is very auspicious news for the China-Myanmar tourism industry, said, CEO and Developer of Blue Ocean Star Resort and Travel Co., Ltd.

General Manager of Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport Co., Ltd hopes that the economic, social, and various other collaborative activities between Chongqing and Myanmar will become closer and more frequent than before Through this air route.

We will closely cooperate with relevant departments in Myanmar to carefully maintain and operate this air route for long-term sustainability, and we are committed to ensuring the long-term viability of air connectivity between Myanmar and Chongqing."

Regarding the flight schedule, there are two types of flights such as passenger flights and cargo flights. Passenger flights will operate twice a week (on Mondays and Fridays), and cargo flights will operate three times a week. Today (December 9), cargo flights will commence operations, according to the relevant officials.
