







Under the management of the Tanintharyi Region Government, the "Library Development and the Reading Promotion Festival", jointly organized by the Department of Information and Public Relations and the Department of Basic Education, was held successfully at Basic Education High School No. (7) in Dawei in the morning on December 8.
First, the Taninthayi Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko, the Chief Justice of Region High Court, the Region Minister for Social Affairs, the Region Education Officer, and the Region Director of the Department of Information and Public Relations cut the ribbon to open the “Library Development and the Reading Promotion Festival". They then took a group photo with the students.
Following that, the Region Chief Minister and officials watched and encouraged performances by students and musical performances by Drum and Bugle Corps and Pom Pom Dance groups, and presented honorary cash awards.
Subsequently, the Region Chief Minister and officials observed and encouraged the activities of the ongoing "Library Development and the Reading Promotion Festival". The Region Chief Minister warmly went around greeting the participating students and presented them with school notebooks as gifts.
It is reported that approximately 1,300 students attended the festival and they showed keen interest in viewing the photo exhibition boards and book exhibition displayed at the festival and participated joyfully in the competitions.
