Inspection in Yangon : Construction of National Cancer Treatment Center

Union Minister for Health Professor Dr Thet Khaing Win, accompanied by relevant Professors and responsible Personnel, inspected National Cancer Treatment Center in Dagon SeikKan Township, Yangon on December 5th.

The Union Minister heard reports on the completion of construction and beautifying activities as well as the condition of radiation therapy treatment and work requirements. The Union Minister coordinated the needs on the report.

He also instructed that the State Government has distributed funds for construction of the National Cancer Treatment Center, and urged all to make strenuous efforts for completion of the tasks within the time frame. Subsequently, the Union Minister and party inspected the radiation therapy process, using three modern laser diagnostic equipments, and the chosen site for installation of another new equipment.

Following this, the Union Minister and party inspected the ongoing work for landscaping. He then encouraged the responsible personnel and instructed for completion of the tasks within a set period. The Construction Special Team (1) under the Ministry of Construction is undertaking for implementation of the 8-storey building and related project with the allotted budget by the government.

The center is now providing treatment to about 200 to 250 patients per day, and the Yangon Region Government and Hospital Supervision Team make arrangements for convenience of the patients.
