Myanmar hosted the 20th Meeting of the ASEAN Coordinating Committee on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (ACCMSME) and related meetings on Monday in Nay Pyi Taw.

In the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee for the Development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than stated that Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the economic foundation of ASEAN countries and play the most critical role in economic growth and job creation.

He emphasized the need for ASEAN member states to work collectively to strengthen cooperation on matters including digital adoption and technological upgrading, access to financial mechanisms, inclusiveness and sustainability and market integration under ASEAN frameworks.

Next, the Assistant Director-General of the Department of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion of Thailand encouraged all Committee members to exchange views on the implementation of the 2025 Review and the 2030 Review to strengthen regional cooperation, focusing on securing investment for MSMEs, creating an inclusive business environment, and enhancing the role of women entrepreneurs.
