Graduation Ceremony: UDNR held the 7th 5-year B.Ed graduation ceremony

The University for the Development of the National Races of the Union held the Graduation Ceremony of the 5-year Education Degree Course No (7) and issued the recruitment certificate to the graduates on 6th November at the Convocation Hall of the University in Sagaing Region.

In his congratulatory remarks, members of the State Security and Peace Commission, Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, noted that the University for the Development of National Races of the Union (Sagaing) and the Nationalities Youth Resource Development Degree College (in Yangon and Sagaing) have been established to provide free advanced education to young people from ethnic communities in border regions. Since its founding, there have been 175 trainees who completed the master’s degrees in education; 35 graduates of the master of Arts (philosophy) in education, 4,977 graduates in education; 932 who completed the diploma in teaching; 956 who completed the diploma in middle school teaching; 461 who completed the special primary teacher training course; altogether 14,689 young people were graduated.

The Minister encouraged the graduates to collaborate with local ethnic communities in the development efforts of their respective regions and to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to them as capable and reliable public servants who are vital to the nation and its people.

Afterwards, Union Minister Lt-Gen YarPyae and the Chief Minister of Sagaing Region U Myat Kyaw awarded the outstanding students, and the director-General of the Ministry of Border Affairs and Sagaing education officer handed over the recruitment certificates to the graduates.

After the ceremony, the Union Minister and Chief Minister met with the outstanding prize winners and extended words of honor, cordially greeted the graduates. In the afternoon, the Union Minister met with the Rector, Pro-Rectors, Professors and Heads of Departments, heard the report from the rector, coordinated requirements and provided cash assistance for the faculty members, staff and students.

Then, they inspected the conditions of the solar system operating inside the school compound for river water pumping, students practicing according to their subjects, students undergoing basic military training, the upgraded viewing stands and football field, volleyball practice in the stadium, dormitories, and agricultural activities, and provided necessary support and assistance.

In the evening, the Union Minister and the Chief Minister of Sagaing Region hosted a reception with an honor dinner in the graduation hall for the graduating students, watched and encouraged the students' entertainment programs, and presented honorary certificates and awards.
