Festive Activities: Tazaungdaing Festival at Maravijaya Buddha Park

The annual Tazaungdaing Lighting Festival and Hot Air Balloon Releasing Ceremony have begun at the Maravijaya Buddha Image in Nay Pyi Taw Dekkhinathiri Township, the world’s tallest seated Buddha Image. Thousands of devotees from across the country visited to offer lights, flowers, and water to the sacred image, participate in candle lighting and balloon releasing, and enjoy the beautifully decorated Buddha Park illuminated with LED lights.

Authorities have arranged transportation, security, and health services to ensure the event runs safely and smoothly. In addition to religious activities, the festival features a lively Tazaungdaing Trade Fair, Poe Chit Drama Show, and concerts by famous Myanmar singers, performing with Hi Bird and Runner Music Bands. Over 300 booths are open, displaying MSME products, traditional foods, and handicrafts from across Myanmar.

Visitors are enjoying the exhibitions, food stalls, and entertainment programs in a joyful and festive atmosphere during the three-day celebration from November 2 to 4.
