Hotels & Tourism Sector: Dy Minister Calls for Cooperation in Shan State

Deputy Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Phyo Zaw Soe visited the Panglong Agreement Monument (Union Monument), a prominent tourist attraction in Panglong Township of Southern Shan State in the afternoon of October 26.

He asked the responsible officials to ensure that the historical background and traditions of the monument are fully explained to visiting tourists, and to prepare by keeping the inscription, memorial stone, and photographic records inside the Panglong Agreement Monument clean and tidy.

On October 27, in the meeting with concerned officials in Mong Pan Township, the Deputy Minister stated that Shan State possesses many iconic destinations and tourist attractions. He called for cooperation on attracting more domestic and international tourists to Mong Pan Township. He also mentioned that the Ministry would collaborate with relevant ministries to fulfill basic necessities, and urged all attendees to cooperate for the development of tourism in Mong Pan Township, as the State Government prioritizes the growth of the tourism sector.

Afterwards, the attendees discussed and presented various matters related to the tourism sector, including activities for local development, issues concerning tourism growth, and challenges they face in their respective sectors. The Deputy Minister coordinated the presentations and provided necessary assistance to address the needs.
