Lancang-Mekong : “Towards a Golden Future” Documentary

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn received and answered the interview of the joint production team from Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) and China's Yunnan Media Group (YMG) on October 27 at the Ministry of Information.

The interview was in connection with the ongoing documentary series titled "Lancang-Mekong: Towards a Golden Future", which aims to enhance friendship and understanding between the peoples of China and Myanmar through the information sector. During the interview, he stated that the "Mekong-Lancang" Cooperation Project further strengthens friendly relations among the Greater Mekong Subregion countries and contributes to the development and progress of the countries in the region.

He mentioned that in 2008, a program titled "Mekong-Lancang Travel Program" was co-produced with CCTV, and in 2019, the "Southern New Silk Road Documentary" was co-produced with YMG, both of which were broadcast on both sides' television channels.

He further expressed that cooperation through the media sector, in addition to government-to-government collaboration, can also significantly enhance people-to-people ties and further solidify friendship.

It’s learnt that the documentary series "Lancang-Mekong: Towards a Golden Future" is a one-year project being co-produced by the Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) under the Ministry of Information and China's Yunnan Media Group (YMG) from Yunnan Province. Upon completion of editing, the documentary series will be broadcast on both Myanmar and Chinese television channels.
