Electrification: Union Minister Addresses Meeting in Yangon

A meeting on the current situation of electricity distribution within the Yangon Region was held on October 27th at the Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation (Head Office) in Ahlone Township.

At the meeting, Union Minister for Electric Power, U Nyan Tun, stated that in order to meet the electricity demand in Yangon Region, plans are being made to expand and construct power generation facilities, as well as to arrange for the better transmission of the electricity currently being generated.

He emphasized the necessity for everyone to work together harmoniously to improve the stability and fullness of the power system in the transmission and distribution sectors. He also stressed the need to systematically review and utilize the allocated budget to complete the set tasks within the fiscal year.

Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of continuously inspecting to prevent illegal power usage by conducting regular inspections, as well as forming teams to perform Spot Check, Cross Check, Counter Check, and Surprise Check inspections.

Following this, the responsible officials presented their respective clarifications, and the Union Minister provided necessary supplements regarding the presentations before delivering the concluding remarks.
