Upon the invitation of the head of the National Energy Administration of the People's Republic of China, the Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin, who is in the People's Republic of China to attend the 2025 International Forum on Energy Transition and to undertake matters related to energy cooperation between Myanmar and China, visited factories manufacturing multi-purpose various engines and generators on October 25.

Factory officials explained the installation of manufactured components, testing of finished products, maintenance of used engines, and showcased various horsepower engines, methanol engines, natural gas engines, generators compatible with these engines, and their performance, tailored to user requirements for installation in vehicles, vessels, and generators.

The Union Minister inquired and discussed about the possibility of technology transfer for installation in their factories, maintenance operations, and sending their staff to factories for various on-the-job training. The officials responded that they are ready to cooperate if there is a willingness to collaborate.

It is reported that the diesel engines and natural gas engines used in electricity generation, and the generators used with these engines, have been in use for a long time, leading to decreased performance and increased natural gas leakage.

Therefore, there is a need for major repairs and upgrades, timely availability of necessary spare parts, and the need for experts to come and perform repairs. Consequently, to directly collaborate with technologically precise and reliable manufacturers, they visited state-owned factories that possess technology and licensed production rights.
