Int’l Forum on Energy Transition : Delegation led by MoE UM attended the forum

Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin attended the International Forum on Energy Transition 2025, organized by the National Energy Administration (NEA) of the People's Republic of China, along with energy ministers and energy sector leaders from around the world, and toured the exhibition halls.

At the forum, the Union Minister participated as a Key Note Speaker and delivered a presentation under the title "Myanmar's Participation in Ensuring Energy Sufficiency, Energy Security, and Energy Transition." Subsequently, the Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister U Ko Ko Lwin met with a team headed by Mr. Wang Hongzhi, the Head of the National Energy Administration of the People's Republic of China.

They discussed matters such as the desire for close bilateral cooperation in energy sufficiency and security during the energy transition period, based on the energy policies and strategies of both countries.

They also discussed the necessity of inevitably utilizing AI technology, which can be called the transformative technology of the 21st century, in energy transition processes, and requested China's assistance in matters related to obtaining and utilizing more electrical power, which is a key requirement. Furthermore, they exchanged views and held open and frank discussions on Myanmar's readiness to cooperate by leveraging its geographical advantage as a hub, given that China is increasing cooperation with the Middle East and Africa in the energy sector.
