World Sight Day: World Sight Day observed in Mawlamyaing

In commemoration of 2025 World Sight Day, a ceremony was held at the General Hospital meeting hall in Mawlamyaing in Mon State, in the morning on October 22. First, the State Chief Minister, U Aung Kyi Thein, delivered a speech.

Following this, the Chief Minister warmly greeted the ophthalmologists, doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers. He toured and encouraged the ophthalmology, ENT, and head and neck specialty departments of the General Hospital in Mawlamyaing, observing the care provided to patients undergoing eye surgeries and eye examinations.

 

The ceremony of receiving guiding advice from the Mon State Chief Minister by the team of Ramanya Weaving Loom representing Mon State which will participate in the Matho Thingan (Non-Stale-Robe) weaving competition to be organized during the 2025 Maravijaya Buddha Image Tazaungdaing Festival which will be held from 13th Waxing moon to the full moon day of Tazaungmone month in Maravijaya Buddha Park, Dakhinathiri Township in Nay Pyi Taw, was held in Aung San Hall of Mon State Government Office in Mawlamyaing.

Subsequently, the Chief Minister delivered guiding advice and presented cash awards to the team participating in the Matho Thingan competition. It is reported that the Chief Minister warmly encouraged and bid farewell to the members of the Mon State representative competition team who will participate in the event.
