





In Loikaw Township, Kayah State, as part of a weekly vaccination campaign in basic education schools, vaccinations against diphtheria and tetanus and HPV vaccinations to prevent cervical cancer are being administered.
In the morning on October 21, Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin, along with officials, visited Basic Education High School No. 5 in Loikaw to observe and support the administration of diphtheria and tetanus vaccines to kindergarten students and HPV vaccines to students aged 9 to 10 years.
The head of the State Public Health Department provided a detailed report on the current status of the vaccination efforts. The Chief Minister instructed responsible personnel to systematically prepare lists and ensure that no eligible children are missed during the vaccination process and to continuously carry out school health care activities.
As of today, a total of 850 kindergarten children in basic education schools across the state have received the diphtheria and tetanus vaccine (DT), and 412 students aged between 9 and 10 years have been vaccinated with the HPV vaccine to prevent cervical cancer, it’s reported.
