Rural Electrification : Electricity supply to six villages in Shan State (South)

Launching of electricity supply to six villages in Naung Lay  and Phet Kun  Village-tracts of Taunggyi in Shan State (South) took place in Ngo Myu  Village on Saturday. Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung attended the formal opening ceremony, together with officials.

Shan State is comprised with more than 13,700 villages, and among them, 2,888 villages have electricity access through the national grid. As part of the National Electrification Project which cover over 9,600 villages across the country, including 463 villages from Shan State (South). Under this project, Shan State Government has spent over 62 billion kyats for electrifying 273 villages from 2021-2022 to 2024-2025 fiscal year.
