











A Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin attended the 8th Russia Energy Week International Forum, held in Moscow from October 15 to 17, at the invitation of Mr. Anton Kobyakov, Executive Secretary of the forum’s organizing committee and advisor to the Russian President.
During the visit on October 15, the delegation held meetings with top executives from Gazprom International and Zarubezhneft JSC, discussing opportunities for cooperation in oil and gas exploration, refining, and energy trading through Myanmar’s deep-sea ports.
They also explored prospects for building an oil refinery in Myanmar and distributing petroleum products locally and regionally. On October 16, the delegation met with Mr. Sergey Vladimirovich Shatirov and officials from the Russian Investment Fund (Roscongress) to discuss ongoing and future collaboration in the energy sector.
The delegation also attended the Plenary Session of the forum, where Russian President Vladimir Putin highlighted the importance of energy in global development, energy security, and technological progress. Additionally, the Myanmar delegation visited exhibition booths, including Inter RAO, where they discussed advanced Combined-Cycle Gas Turbine technology for efficient electricity generation using natural gas.
The Russia Energy Week Forum, launched in 2017, serves as a platform for international cooperation on energy development, climate, science, and technology.
