Efforts for Peace : "Building a Peaceful Future for Myanmar"

The third day of the workshop titled "Building a Peaceful Future for Myanmar," commemorating the 10th Anniversary of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), was held on October 17 at the Myanmar International Convention Centre (1) in Nay Pyi Taw.

The workshop was attended by Member of the State Security and Peace Commission, Union Minister for Border Affairs and Ethnic Affairs, and Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee, Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, concerned officials and observers.

There, a discussion was made under the topic “Reviewing the implementation, successes, and lessons learned of the peace process during the 10 years of the NCA, the re-inclusion of the ethnic armed organizations, and the identification of short-term and long-term strategies for challenges and issues concerning the peace process.”

Following this, discussions were held according to different dialogue sessions, and representatives presented their suggestions and discussed them.  In the afternoon, the closing ceremony of the workshop was held. Activities included reviewing and discussing the topics covered, presenting the consolidated results of the discussions, and supplementary discussions on necessary matters regarding the workshop “Building a Peaceful Future for Myanmar.”

Afterward, commemorative gifts were presented and the Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee delivered the closing speech. After the workshop, officials from the Union Election Commission demonstrated practical voting using the Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine in relation to casting votes in the 2025 Multi-party Democratic General Election.
