








A Myanmar delegation, led by Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief, and Resettlement Dr. Soe Win, is attending the 13th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Management (AMMDM) and Related Meetings, held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The Union Minister attended the honourary dinner hosted by Cambodia, on October 15. On October 16, the Union Minister, together with other ASEAN Ministers, met with the Prime Minister of Cambodia, H.E. Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, at the Royal Palace of Cambodia. He then attended the opening ceremony of the 13th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Management and Related Meetings, and the event commemorating Cambodia's National Disaster Management Day.
Following that, the Union Minister attended the 5th ASEAN-China Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Management held at the Sofitel Hotel.
At the meeting, the Union Minister stated that the development and joint implementation of the ASEAN-China Cooperation Work Programme on Disaster Management (2021-2025) by the People's Republic of China have achieved positive results in the region. He expressed special gratitude for the immediate dispatch of search and rescue and emergency medical teams, the provision of humanitarian assistance, and the support for rehabilitation efforts during the Mandalay earthquake. He also added that Myanmar will continue to cooperate in ASEAN-China activities to make the ASEAN region resilient to disasters.
In the 5th ASEAN-Japan Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Management, the Union Minister expressed thanks to Japan for its continuous cooperation in ASEAN disaster management activities, including the establishment of the Disaster Emergency Logistic System for ASEAN (DELSA). He also thanked Japan for its assistance with medical teams and relief supplies in response to the Mandalay earthquake. Subsequently, the Union Minister attended the 4th ASEAN-Korea Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Management.
