Coordination Meeting: MIFER and MoC held a coordination meeting

A coordination meeting led by Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr. Wah Wah Maung and Union Minister for Commerce U Chit Swe, aimed to facilitate collaborative implementation between the government and private sectors regarding the follow-up actions related to the guidance from the Head of State concerning the visits to the People's Republic of China (Xiamen Itinerary) and the Republic of Belarus (Minsk Itinerary), was held on October 14, at Meeting Hall (1) of Office Building No. (1) of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations in Nay Pyi Taw.

At the meeting, Union Minister Dr. Wah Wah Maung discussed the guidance from the Head of State regarding the visit to the People's Republic of China. She explained the situation concerning the participation of Myanmar businesses in the International Trade and Investment Fair held in Xiamen, Fujian Province, during the Xiamen itinerary, and elaborated on matters related to economic cooperation. Similarly, regarding the visit to Minsk, Republic of Belarus, she addressed the attendance at the second meeting of the Joint Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Myanmar and Belarus.

She also requested that the invited relevant departments and organizations conduct sector-specific discussions on detailed matters for further cooperation between the two countries in trade and the economy. Following this, Union Minister for Commerce U Chit Swe spoke about the status of Myanmar's efforts to increase trade with China and Belarus, as well as the ongoing efforts to enhance trade with ASEAN countries and neighboring countries. He also requested the attending business associations to provide necessary suggestions and discussions.

Subsequently, Deputy Minister for Commerce U Min Min explained the trade situation between Myanmar and China, the status of agreements between Myanmar and Belarus, ways to enhance bilateral trade, the possibility of organizing trade fairs and economic forums, and increasing cooperation in industry and technology. The UMFCCI Chairman, U Aye Win, and other attending officials then discussed and presented their planned activities according to their respective sectors. The Union Ministers provided additional comments and discussions as needed.
