








The offering ceremony of 1000 alms bowls, at the historic Hsu-Taung-Pyae Pagoda's Buddapujaniya festival, was held at the Dhamma Hall of the pagoda in Monywa, Sagaing Region in the morning of October 14. The ceremony was attended by the Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw and officials.
First, the Region Chief Minister and the guests received the five Precepts from the presiding Sayadawgyi of Thasan monastery, Phaya Ward, Monywa and offered offerings, medicines, and alms bowls to the members of Sangha.
Subsequently, the Region Chief Minister, the Region Chief Justice and wife, Region Government members and wives, Region/District/Township level departments, town elders, and local residents offered alms bowls, offerings, and fruits to 1000 members of Sangha from the monasteries in Monywa Township.
After that, the Region Chief Minister and officials went to observe the ongoing offering of the full golden robe to the historic Pagoda in Monywa under the leadership of the Region Government, and provided necessary support and coordination with the responsible officials.
Furthermore, the Region Chief Minister and officials arrived at the Myo Yarpyae Pagoda at the beautiful Eastern Kanthaya Lake in Monywa, where the Tazaungdaing festival of the year 1387 (Myanmar Era) will be held. They instructed the responsible officials to ensure the surroundings of the pagoda are always clean and tidy, and that no littering occurs in the Kanthaya Lake, so that pilgrims from Monywa and nearby areas can worship the pagoda peacefully. They also provided necessary support and coordination with the responsible officials.
