










The Central Committee on Supervising Ground Census Enumeration held a work coordination meeting at the Ministry of Immigration and Population on Friday.
Central Committee Chairman Union Minister U Myint Kyaing, Nay Pyi Taw Ground Census Enumeration Supervisory Committee Chairman U Than Tun Oo, committee members, and other concerned officials attended the meeting in person, while the Chairmen and members of the Regions and States Committees joined via video conference.
Speaking at the meeting, the Union Minister emphasized the need to review and correct discrepancies in the first-round voter lists, announced since September 30, and ensure the second-round lists, to be published in November, are complete and accurate. He urged the public to check their details at voter list locations and report any issues to the relevant officials for the correction according to the Union Election Commission law.
The Union Minister also urged all relevant committees to diligently issue citizenship scrutiny cards to eligible citizens under the Pan Khin project and ensure eligible voters are included while non-eligible individuals are excluded from the voter list.
He instructed the officials from the districts, regions, and states committees to verify and submit the current population list of those aged 18 and above to the Central Committee by the deadline, so that after approval, the Union Election Commission can prepare the second voter list.
The meeting also discussed challenges in announcement of the first voter list, ongoing plans to ensure voter list’s accuracy and issues to be fulfilled by the Central Committee.
Then, the Central Committee members reported on the implementation of previous meeting decisions, challenges in announcement of the first voter list, preparations for the accurate publication of the second voter list, timely verification and submission of the approved population list, progress of the Pan Khin project and plans to cooperate with the Central Supervisory Committee. The Union Minister fulfilled the needs based on the reports, and urged all concerned officials to work together for ensuring accurate voter list.
