ASEAN Economic Community: Meeting of AEC 2025 Implementation Committees held

The meeting of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) 2025 Implementation Committees was held on 10th October, at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, in Nay Pyi Taw.

Union Minister Dr. Wah Wah Maung gave opening remarks, saying that Myanmar is working in cooperation with ASEAN in implementing the regional economic collaboration. She emphasized that as this year marks the final year of implementing of the AEC 2025 Blueprint, the meeting aims to openly discuss the overall implementation status, Myanmar’s progress and challenges, and to share updates on  ASEAN vision 2045 and the upcoming AEC Strategic Plan (2026–2030), as well as to share the outcomes and follow-up actions from ASEAN economic meetings held in September.

She also called for timely reporting of implementation challenges and for stronger inter-ministerial cooperation on cross-cutting issues. During the meeting, attendees discussed the implementation of the AEC measures, challenges of the implementation, and their future directions.
