




Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win attended a seminar at Thiri Hantha Hall in Bago Township on October 9.
The seminar aimed to discuss methods for removing pesticide residues and technologies to achieve target yields in export crop production. At the seminar, the Chief Minister highlighted the key role of the agricultural sector in ensuring food security and economic growth.
He called for efforts to meet target yields, mitigate pesticide residues, and enhance food safety. Emphasizing the region’s major role in rice and bean exports, he urged all for collaboration to produce safe, high-quality and globally traded crops.
The seminar was followed by sector-wise discussions on crop protection, seed production, pest and disease control, farmland management, and managing weeds to protect crop yields. The Chief Minister and party then toured the educational posters on pesticide use and greeted the farmers.
The seminar was attended by over 200 participants, including farmers from 14 townships, Department of Agriculture staff, pesticide and fertilizer company representatives, export license officials, and agricultural experts in Bago Region.
