Support for Sports: Final weightlifting selections for 33rd SEA Games

Final selection trials and record test competitions for Myanmar weightlifters aiming to compete in the upcoming 33rd Southeast Asian Games were held at the Weightlifting Training Hall in Wunna Theikdi Sports Complex on Thursday.

A total of 24 athletes from the Gold Camp and Youth Camp took part in the trials. Events were held for both men and women across various weight classes. Two athletes, Thuzar Khin  and Win Naing Tun  broke Myanmar national records at Women’s 63kg and Men’s 94kg, and were awarded cash prizes by the Union Minister who encouraged the athletes to keep training hard and aim for medals in the SEA Games.

Later in the day, the Union Minister met with the Myanmar Sepak Takraw Federation chairman  to discuss preparations for the national team’s success at the SEA Games. The ministry pledged full support to help the team achieve victory.
