Preparation for Election: Election awareness billboard launch held in Yangon

To raise public awareness for the upcoming 2025 multi-party democratic general election, an election awareness billboard launch ceremony was held in front of the People’s Square in Dagon Township of Yangon Region on Thursday.

The billboard, titled “Let’s Vote to Protect Our Citizen Rights”, was unveiled by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and Union Election Commission member U Aung Saw Win. A total of 178 billboards were simultaneously launched at 89 locations across Yangon Region to encourage eligible citizens not to miss their right to vote.

Following the ceremony, the Chief Minister and officials visited the township offices in Tamwe, Yankin, and Kamayut to observe the first round of voter list announcements for the upcoming December election. They met with locals, encouraged them to verify their information, and instructed officials to update the lists correctly using Form (3), and remove ineligible voters such as deceased or imprisoned individuals using Forms (4) and (4-c).
