Myanmar - Kazakhstan : Acting President paid working visit to Kazakhstan

The Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, met with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, at the Presidential Palace in the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the afternoon of September 27.

First, upon the arrival of the Acting President, SSPC Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, at the Presidential Palace of Kazakhstan, an honor guard paid respects and gave a ceremonial welcome, and the President of Kazakhstan warmly welcomed and greeted him. Subsequently, they held a meeting and discussion in the reception hall of the Presidential Palace.

The President of Kazakhstan first stated that he warmly welcomes the delegation led by the Acting President, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Kazakhstan. He mentioned that the distinguished guest is also the first leader from Myanmar to visit Kazakhstan.

He noted that he has studied and understands that Myanmar is strategically located historically, culturally, and geographically. He expressed Kazakhstan's readiness to engage in economic cooperation with Myanmar and believes that economic collaboration between the two countries would enable cooperation not only with Russia but also with Southeast Asian countries.

In response, the Acting President, SSPC Chairman, expressed his belief that such meetings and discussions would serve as a driving force to enhance bilateral relations and implement practical cooperation. He stated that although the two countries are geographically distant, they are friendly nations, and therefore, he desires to increase close cooperation across various sectors that would be mutually beneficial.

Following this, the Acting President, SSPC Chairman, and the President of Kazakhstan cordially exchanged views and discussed matters related to enhancing cooperation in various sectors, including trade and commerce, agriculture and livestock, transportation of goods, oil, natural gas and mining, and the political developments in Myanmar.

  After the meeting, the Acting President, SSPC Chairman, and the President of Kazakhstan exchanged commemorative gifts. Later, the high-level Myanmar delegation led by the Acting President, SSPC Chairman, attended an official luncheon hosted by the President of Kazakhstan and enjoyed lunch together.

During the lunch, the Acting President, SSPC Chairman, and the President of Kazakhstan continued to exchange views on matters related to promoting friendship and cooperation between the two countries, it’s learnt. After having lunch, the Acting President, SSPC Chairman and the President of Kazakhstan exchanged commemorative gifts.

Subsequently, the Acting President, SSPC Chairman and delegation members departed from the Presidential Palace of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The President of Kazakhstan accompanied them to the motorcade and bid them farewell in a warm and friendly manner, it’s learnt.
