National Committee Meeting: MSWRR UM delivered opening speech at the meeting

The National Committee on the Prevention and Response to Sexual Violence in Conflict held its meeting at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement in Nay Pyi Taw on 18th September.

Chairman of the committee Union Minister Dr.Soe Win attended the meeting and delivered an opening speech stating that the meeting was held in order to make discussions for approving the reports of the first (6) month’s period of the work project’s fourth term.

After approving, the report will be summarized and the developmental facts in English regarding the work project with the approval of National Defence and Security Council will be transferred to the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Then, the deputy ministers from relevant ministries and attendees made reports on the work implementations within the first (6) month’s period. Secretary of the national committee, director general of social welfare department made clarifications on the work completions and decisions made during the previous meeting.

After that, the attendees discussed on the draft report of the first (6) month’s period, approving and extension for the fifth term of the project. Then, the Union Minister concluded the meeting.
