







The opening ceremony of the 2025 Commander-in-Chief of Defense Services’ Cup Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, Air) Football Tournament was held at the Zeyathiri Tatmadaw Sports Ground in Nay Pyi Taw in the evening on Wednesday.
The Chairman of the Tatmadaw Sports and Physical Education Administration Committee, Adjutant-General, Lt-Gen Phone Myat attended on behalf of the Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
First, the National Military Band entered the ground and took their positions. Then, the flag troop led by the parade commander and athletes from 17 sports teams took their positions. Afterwards, the flag troop led by the parade commander and the athletes saluted the Chairman of the Tatmadaw Sports and Physical Education Administration Committee, the Adjutant-General.
Next, the Committee Chairman, the Adjutant-General, delivered the opening address on behalf of the Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
Then, the parade commander led the flag troop and the participating teams in a march past to salute the Committee Chairman, the Adjutant-General, and then exited the ground. Then, the Committee Chairman, the Adjutant-General, and attendees watched the first match of the group stage of the tournament between the team representing the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Navy) and the team representing the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Air).
In the match, both sides played with mutual pressure to achieve a good result. Although the Navy team scored a leading goal in the 4th minute and led the match, the Air team managed to equalize with a goal around the 80th minute, resulting in a draw at the end of full time. It is reported that the 2025 Commander-in-Chief Defense Services’ Cup Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, Air) Football Tournament will be held until October 24.
