






During the working visit to the People’s Republic of China, the Acting President and SSPC Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, together with accompanying delegation members, visited the Lingguang Temple in Beijing to pay homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha at 3:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday.
Upon arrival at Lingguang Temple, the Myanmar delegation led by the Acting President was warmly welcomed by the responsible members of the monastery and local Buddhist devotees. The Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission paid homage to the Venerable Abbot of Lingguang Temple and discussed matters regarding the devotion of pilgrims from within China and abroad to the Sacred Tooth Relic, the wish to convey the Relic to Myanmar for veneration, and the needs of the temple.
The Venerable Abbot explained that both domestic and international pilgrims continue to visit and that renovation and conservation works are being carried out at the temple. The resident Abbot presented Dhamma gifts to the Acting President, after which the Acting President, together with delegation members, donated collective offerings to the temple.
The Acting President and party then paid homage to the Buddha Image inside the temple and subsequently paid homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha enshrined within the pagoda. On the occasion, the Abbot explained the history of the Sacred Tooth Relic. The Acting President and his delegation continued to pay homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic and respectfully paid homage to the Buddha Images housed within the temple precincts.
