Honoring Yangon Galacticos: Shan State Chief Minister attended the event

A special dinner to honor Yangon Galacticos, the Esports team that won the world championship at the 2025 Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, was held at the Taunggyi Indoor Stadium on August 31.

The event was attended by Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung and other officials; U Aung Ko Win, the Patron of Myanmar Electronic Sports Federation, Founding Patron of KBZ Bank, and the KBZ Group; officials from the Shan State Department of Sports and Physical Education; the world champion Esports athletes; local elders; and other invited guests.

The ceremony began with a video tribute showcasing the journey of the world champion Yangon Galacticos team, as well as a video of the celebratory welcome they received from the people of Shan State.

Next, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung gave a speech to honor the world champion Esports team. Dr. Kaung Myat San, President of the Myanmar Electronic Sports Federation, then expressed words of thanks and introduced the championship athletes individually.

Following this, U Aung Ko Win, the Patron of the Myanmar Electronic Sports Federation, presented one billion kyats reward to the team. Additionally, Taunggyi Garden City awarded a total of nine 40x60 foot land plots to the officials of the Myanmar Esports Federation and to each of the victorious young athletes. After that, the world champion team members warmly greeted the local community members.

It was noted that KBZ Bank and KBZPay have been consistently supporting the Myanmar Electronic Sports Federation since 2018, providing more than 4.8 billion kyats in support to date, which was instrumental in the team's journey to becoming a world champion.

The 2025 Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia was one of the largest international Esports tournaments in the world, featuring over 200 teams and 2,000 professional players from more than 100 countries.
