Honoring ceremony: Outstanding students honored in Rakhine State

Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin attended and gave an opening speech at an awards ceremony for outstanding students who passed the 2025 matriculation examination with distinction, held at the U Ottama Hall in Sittwe on August 26.

In his speech, Chief Minister U Htein Lin said that the results of the matriculation exam, the final milestone of basic education, are a moment of great anticipation for students, parents, and teachers. He expressed his joy on behalf of the Rakhine State government for being able to honor the students who have brought prestige to the state.

The Chief Minister then presented certificates of honor and cash prizes to the students who earned four and three distinctions. The Chief Minister's wife, who is also the Patron of the State Women's Affairs Committee, presented awards to students with two distinctions. The Chief Justice of the State High Court, state ministers, and the state Advocate General presented awards to students with one distinction. The secretary of the state government awarded a medal, cash prize, and a certificate of honor to the school with the highest pass rate in Rakhine State.

Following the awards, a student with four distinctions, Maung Soe Min Aung, expressed works of thanks. A video was then shown highlighting the efforts made to develop the education sector in Rakhine State.

After the ceremony, the Chief Minister, his wife, and other members of the state government cordially greeted the teachers, students, and parents in attendance. The Chief Minister also presented cash prizes to the students who performed at the ceremony.
