







The Tanintharyi Region-level ceremony for the 2025 Nutrition Development Weeks was held at the city hall in Dawei in the morning on August 25. The event was held under the theme, “For a beautiful future for children, let's breastfeed and invest.” Tanintharyi Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko gave an opening speech.
In his speech, Chief Minister U Myat Ko said that the event is held to encourage the public to be more interested in and involved in nutrition development, to eat a balanced and nutritious diet, and to raise healthy and intelligent citizens through nutritional education. He noted that activities for "Nutrition Development Weeks" are held annually throughout August in townships, districts, and villages across the region.
The Chief Minister then presented awards to students who won the essay contest held to commemorate the Nutrition Development Weeks. Afterward, students from Basic Education High School No. 6 and No. 7 gave a musical performance.
Next, a video titled "Let's Eat a Nutritious and Balanced Diet during Pregnancy" was shown. This was followed by another musical performance by students from Basic Education High School No. 8 and No. 1.
The Chief Minister, region ministers, the Maternal and Child Welfare Supervisory Committee, and women's organizations administered high-potency Vitamin A supplements to children under five. They also gave micronutrient tablets and gifts to pregnant and lactating mothers and toured the small exhibition booths.
