UEC Notification No.(53/2025) : Designation of Ethnic constituencies

The Union Election Commission issued Notification No.(53/2025) on Friday regarding the designation of Ethnic constituencies. Under Section 10(d) of the Union Election Commission Law and Section 4 of the Pyithu Hluttaw Election Law, the Commission has designated one constituency each for ethnic representatives in the Region/ State Hluttaws, to be elected under the First-Past-The-Post (FPTP) system.

There will be 29 Ethnic constituencies and these constituencies apply to each eligible ethnic group that has the right to elect a representative in the Region/ State Hluttaw, covering the entire relevant Region or State. It was signed by Than Soe, Chairman of the Union Election Commission.
