Inspection of Office Operations: MoIP UM inspected office operations in Pyin Oo Lwin

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing, accompanied by responsible officials, visited Pyin Oo Lwin Township Immigration and Population Office at the combined Office in Pyin Oo Lwin, Mandalay Region, in the afternoon of 12 August.

At the office, the Union Minister observed the ongoing work of staff members who were verifying household lists and issuing citizenship scrutiny cards to those without cards, as well as to applicants for replacement or duplicate cards, under Phase 3 of Pan Khin Project. He also inspected the process of collecting biographic and biometric data under the e-ID system for those who already have citizenship cards, and issuing them with a Unique ID number. The Union Minister cordially asked questions, discussed any challenges with local residents present for the services, and encouraged them.

Afterwards, at the township office, he examined how field-collected data was being verified, updated, and supplemented against the information in the e-ID server at the head office to ensure accuracy of the certified household lists for correct voter registration. He also inspected the office operations, gave necessary instructions to the responsible officials, and coordinated requirements.

In the morning of 13 August, the Union Minister visited staff housing at Mandalay International Airport in Tada-U Township, Mandalay Region, where some buildings had been damaged or destroyed by the earthquake. He inspected the needs for repairing the damaged staff housing, the current temporary living conditions in tents, and coordinated with responsible officials to address requirements. He then met with staff members at the Container House, delivered remarks, responded to their presentations, arranged to fulfill necessary needs, and provided them with financial assistance and food supplies.
