Under the supervision of the Magway Region Government, health staff, departmental officials, and social organizations are collaborating to accelerate efforts to prevent dengue fever in districts and townships across the region. They are implementing the "Cover, Throw, Change, Filter” initiative to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds.
In the morning on August 12th, the "Cover, Throw, Change, Filter” activities took place in Magway Township at Basic Education High School No. 1, Kantha Market, and 14th Street in Kantha Ward. Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin and region ministers, along with region, district, and township officials, inspected the work. They administered abate insecticide to water tanks, concrete cisterns, and brick water tanks to prevent mosquito larvae from breeding and also provided health education to the public.
During these activities, a joint team of officials, health staff, teachers, social organizations, and ward administrators worked together to prevent mosquito-borne dengue fever. They carried out the "Cover, Throw, Change, Filter” initiative in mosquito-prone areas around the market and school. They also added abate insecticide to water storage containers and conducted general cleanup efforts.
Similarly, in all seven districts and their respective townships in Magway Region, under the supervision of the District and Township administrative bodies, efforts are being intensified to prevent dengue fever, which is common during the rainy season. These activities include implementing the "Cover, Throw, Change, Filter” initiative, administering abate insecticide, and providing public health education and distributing pamphlets to prevent seasonal flu and diarrhea. The public is actively participating in these efforts.
