Engineering Education: Meeting on engineering education system held

A coordination meeting to analyze and support the implementation of an international-standard engineering education system at the technological universities and polytechnic universities under the Ministry of Science and Technology was held via a hybrid system at the Ministry on August 5.

The meeting was organized by the Engineering Education Accreditation Committee (EEAC) of the Myanmar Engineering Council. The Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw attended the meeting and delivered the opening speech.

In his opening speech, Union Minister stated that the government prioritizes the development of the education sector to ensure the nation's continuous progress. He emphasized that the engineers produced must be international-standard professionals who can contribute to national development.

He also expressed his gratitude to the Myanmar Engineering Council for its dedicated efforts to enhance engineering education. Following this, Dr. Aung Kyaw Myat, chairman of the Myanmar Engineering Council, explained the nature of international-standard engineering education and the council's related activities.

Chairman of (EEAC) Dr. Zaw Min Aung and Dr. Mya Mya Oo, then presented their findings from quality assessments of the technological universities under the ministry and outlined future needs. The rectors in attendance discussed the current activities at their respective universities. The meeting concluded with a final address from the Union Minister.
