Fish Stocking Ceremony: MOHA held its 2025 Fish Stocking Ceremony

To enhance the fishery resources in rivers, streams, and reservoirs within the Union Territory, prevent the extinction of fish species, and ensure the long-term sustainability and abundance of fish populations in natural water bodies and lakes, thereby supporting the nation’s overall fish production, the Ministry of Home Affairs held its 2025 Monsoon Fish Stocking Ceremony at Yan Aung Myin Dam in Dekkhinathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw in the evening on July 25.

The ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen. Tun Tun Naung, Deputy Minister Maj-Gen Aung Kyaw Kyaw, senior officials from the Union Minister’s Office, as well as officers, personnel, and staff members from the units and departments under the Ministry.

At the event, the Union Minister released fingerlings into Yan Aung Myin Dam. Together with senior officials, officers, personnel and staff, they released 20,000 fish fingerlings, including common carp, silver barb, and grass carp, into the dam as part of the conservation efforts. Similarly, the Ministry of Home Affairs held its second Monsoon Tree Planting Ceremony of 2025 at Plot No. 61, within the Taung Nyo Reserved Forest, in Ottarathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw.

The event was also led by Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen. Tun Tun Naung and attended by senior officials, officers, and personnel from departments and units under the Ministry.

At the ceremony, the Union Minister led the event by planting a star-flower tree, followed by Deputy Minister Maj-Gen Aung Kyaw Kyaw, Chief of Myanmar Police Force Police Lt-Gen. Win Zaw Moe, Permanent Secretary U Khaing Tun Oo, and other senior officials, military personnel, and staff, who also planted trees at the designated spots.

Afterward, the Union Minister, along with other responsible officials, observed and supported the tree planting activities of the participating personnel and staff.
