Historic Waziya Cinema: Public invited to donate historic photos of Waziya Cinema

The Ministry of Information is inviting the public to donate original or copied photos and documents related to the historic Waziya Cinema, located on Bogyoke Aung San Road, Yangon. Built in 1923 with Beaux Arts-style architecture, Waziya Cinema is one of Myanmar’s oldest and most iconic theaters.

The government plans to upgrade it into a Red Carpet Theatre, a multi-purpose arts venue for film, theater, music, exhibitions, and workshops. People can contribute architectural drawings, event photos, and audience records by contacting the Motion Picture Promotion Division of the Department of Information and Public Relations under the Ministry.
